Nigel Gilderson has been teaching yoga for the last 15 years. He is founder and senior teacher of Brockwell Lido yoga centre in South London, and also gives classes at a number of other locations in London.

 

He began his career in health and fitness as a P.E. teacher and tennis coach giving him a concrete and pragmatic understanding of anatomy and physiology, and was drawn to the deeply therapeutic effects of yoga. He has evolved his own personal style of hatha yoga drawing on influences from the Sivananda, Iyengar, Scaravelli and Shadow yoga traditions.

 

Nigel's classes incorporate a unique blend of mindfullness of breath and opening through relaxation, to integrate the internal energetic system as a preparation for dynamic action. Having spent time practising with Sri K. Pattabhi Jois in Mysore, India, Nigel also offers classes in the Ashtanga Vinyasa system.

 

Nigel also runs both weekend workshops at some beautiful country venues in the UK, and facilitates holidays of varying duration abroad in such countries as Egypt, Sri Lanka, India and Spain.
